1.  Hawthorne US Postal Employees- Citizen of the month
The City Commissioners recognized the US Postal Employees for citizen of the month to thank them for all they do for the Hawthorne Community.

E. ~CITIZEN COMMENTS
Mr. Wallace Russell- Organizational meeting for Easter Sunrise Service scheduled for Monday evening at the Methodist Church at 7:30PM.
Ms. Yvonne- Received courtesy letter regarding code enforcement and bricks on the city right-a-way and did not like the process and how it was handled.

2.  Resolution- Museum Painting
Moved to approve Superior Custom Painting Bid for $10K all inclusive, with the city paying $3500.00 and Hawthorne Area Historical Society paying the balance.

3.  Amend Park & Recreation Budget
Moved to amend the Park & Recreation budget to move funds from Minor Furniture & Equipment, R&M Non Buildings, and Travel & Training totaling $2500.00 to fund uniforms for $2550.00 and also advance HYS $1500.00 to be repaid to the city.

I.  CITIZEN COMMENTS
Mayor Surrency- William Bartram Day is this Saturday from 9AM-4PM
J. ~REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
1. City Manager Vause gave her City Manager’s Report.
2. City Attorney Hoehn- Met with the City Manager & City Clerk to clean up outstanding code cases and some may becoming before the City Commission in the near future.
3. City Commission
A.  Commissioner Roberts-Cheatham- Came in 2000 along with City Clerk McGruder and I have never heard of her being disrespectful to people.  Also Super Seniors will be exercising at the Hawthorne Fitness Center.
B.  Commissioner Floyd- Still excited about Love’s Travel Center and is ready for the downtown renovations to start.
C.  Commissioner Bouie- Also excited about Love’s and was very happy to see the gas pump stations and the Love’s sign going up.
D. Vice Mayor Howard- No Report
4. Mayor Surrency- Open house at the new Alachua County Property Appraisers office location.  Windsor Volunteer Fire Department Annual Zuchinni Festival is May 14, 2016 9AM-4PM.  Let’s remember to remind people of all the positive things going on inside Hawthorne and this is a team effort.  The City Manager, Staff and City Commissioners and our citizens play a huge part.
