D. ~COMMITTEE REPORTS/PRESENTATIONS/PROCLAMATIONS
1.  Citizen of the Month Presentation- City Manager Vause stated she received an email nominating the Mayor as citizen of the month.  Mayor Surrency said he was happy to be nominated but he cannot accept because the City Commission works as a team and this is for the City Commission to recognize our outstanding citizens.
2.  City Government Week- October 16-22, 2016.  Mayor Surrency announced the different activities going on in the city to try and get the citizens involved with City Government.

E. ~CITIZEN COMMENTS
Ms. Marian Rucker- questioned why the yard debris was not picked up.  City Manager Vause said the storm postponed the pickup day and when they did run they couldn’t get everything.

Mrs. Kirkland- City need to improve on its citizen communication and how to get important information out to the citizens.   ~

3. City Commission
Commissioner Roberts-Cheatham- Thank you to Mayor Surrency and Commissioner Floyd for helping her during the storm.  Attended a meeting in Gainesville and Representative Watson was the speaker and he is working on trying to bring back the meals on wheels and commodities program back in Hawthorne and other areas.
Commissioner Floyd- Should look into a rental price that includes the use of table and chairs.
Commissioner Bouie- No report
Vice Mayor Howard- No report
4. Mayor Surrency- Farm share had to start early on Saturday because traffic was backing up on HWY 20.  Trying to get more food access in our community and the Methodist Church is trying to set up the old Matthews House as a food pantry.
